Do I have to call my insurance company if there is damage?

It is mandatory for owners to be insured for peer-to-peer rentals, but we cannot oblige them to send a claim to their insurance.

Private owners who wish to submit a damage claim have to provide Click&Boat with:

  1. The rental contract,
  2. The insurance certificate,
  3. The damage report signed by the tenant and the owner
  4. Photos of the damage.

Although the damage report is managed by Click&Boat, private owners can submit a damage claim with their insurance, especially if the repair costs are higher than the amount covered by the deposit.

Depending on the terms of your insurance contract, your insurance may cover all or part of the repairs, with payment of a franchise.

If you declare the damage to your insurance company, the tenant will be responsible for the remaining franchise and any un-covered repairs.

Please note that you will only be entitled to a refund of the total amount of the deposit.

** Our advice: In the event of a major claim, if the amount of the repairs exceeds the deposit, it is always highly recommended to involve your insurer for the reimbursement of the costs incurred **
