Booking a boat on Click&Boat takes six simple steps: create an account, search, filter your results, message the owner, send a booking request, and get your confirmation
Step 1 — Create your free account
Before you can contact an owner or book a boat, you need a Click&Boat account. It takes about a minute.
- Go to Click&Boat
- In the top right corner, click on the "account" Icon
and select "register" (create your account)
- Enter your email address and a password (or continue with on e of the default autenthication methods, such as Google).
- Your account is created, you can start sailing!
Step 2 — Search for a boat
Once logged in, tell Click&Boat where and when you want to go out on the water.
- Select first of all the type of rental you're looking for: An exclusive rental of a boat (for one or multiple days) or a daily experience.
- Enter your destination (city, marina or region).
- Select your dates.
- Choose a boat type if you already know what you want (motorboat, sailboat, catamaran, etc.) — or leave it open to see everything.
- Click "Search".
Step 3 — Filter and compare results
Your search returns every available boat that matches.
You can narrow things down even more by using the filters on the left of the page.
- Skipper — with a skipper, or "bareboat" if you hold the right qualifications (they vary depending on where you're renting the boat).
- Boat type — motorboat, sailboat, catamaran, RIB, houseboat, etc.
- Price per day — drag the slider to your budget.
- Capacity — the number of people on board.
Click on any boat card to open its full listing.
Step 4 — Message the boat owner or Instant book
At this point you can choose how you want to proceed:
- book the boat straight away if "Instant Booking" is available,
- or message the owner through the platform to sort out the last details before you commit.
We recommend always contacting several owners for the boats you like — comparing their replies is the best way to get the right conditions and the best offer.
- Instant Booking: if the boat's page shows this option, you can go straight to "Request to book" — the owner has already pre-approved the listed conditions.
- Otherwise, message first: click "Contact the owner" to ask about the boat's condition, what's included, the exact meeting point, fuel policy, or anything else that matters to you.
- Wait for the owner's reply (most respond within a day) — and do the same with a few other owners so you can compare.
Some owners may send you a personalized offer (custom price or conditions, sent through the site chat) based on your conversation that you'll be able to review and pay directly from the chat with the boat onwer.
Step 5 — Send your booking request
Happy with the answers? You can request to book directly from the same page.
Once you're ready, click "Request to book" (or "Book now" for Instant Booking). You'll land on a checkout page where you can review and adjust several choices before paying anything:
- A. Cruise insurance — optional cover for cancellation, theft, medical assistance and repatriation. You can decline it if you don't need it.
- B. Weather guarantee (for daily rentals only) — an optional add-on that refunds you if bad weather forces you to cancel your outing.
- C. Payment plan — pay the full amount today, or split it — for example a deposit now and the balance before a set date, often interest-free (Subject to eligibility)
- D. Payment method — card, PayPal, Revolut Pay, Klarna or Alma, depending on what's offered for that booking.
- E. Cancellation policy — check the conditions (for example, full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start) before you confirm.
The sidebar always shows a full price breakdown — the base price, any included extras, service fees, and the total — so there are no surprises.

What happens to my payment? Depending on the boat and the offer, you'll either see a card pre-authorization — you're charged only once the owner accepts, and funds are released automatically if the request is declined or expires — or an immediate payment (such as a deposit) for bookings confirmed straight away, like Instant Booking. Either way, your chosen payment plan and the full price breakdown are always shown before you confirm. |
Step 6 — Get your confirmation
As soon as the owner accepts, you'll receive a confirmation email.
The email address and phone number of the boat owner will be displayed from now on in the section "my bookings" of your profile, by accessing the booking you have just confirmed.
FAQ
Do I need an account just to browse boats?
No — you can search and view listings without an account. You'll only be asked to register when you want to message an owner or request a booking.
Will I be charged when I send a booking request?
No. Entering your card only pre-authorize the amount. You're charged only if and when the owner accepts.
If the boat has instant booking: you're charged as soon as you click on "book".
What happens if the owner doesn't respond?
If your request expires without a response, or if it's declined, the pre-authorization is automatically released and you won't be charged.
Can I negotiate the price or conditions?
Yes — that's exactly what the messaging step is for. An owner can send you a personalized offer with agreed terms, which you can then review and pay for.
How do I contact the owner after booking?
Your can find the owner contact details by accessing the confirmed reservation in your profile
