This guide will walk you step-by-step through creating and optimizing your Experience for daily skipper rentals to attract more customers and increase your bookings.
What’s the difference between a Rental and an Experience?
On Click&Boat, you can offer your boat in two different ways:
🔹 Rental Listing
A standard rental allows customers to book your boat for a period of time, with or without a skipper.
👉 If you want to create or edit a rental listing, please refer to our dedicated guide Edit my listing
🔹 Experience Listing
An Experience is a ready-to-book activity, dedicated to daily rentals with a skipper, where everything is clearly defined:
- Duration
- Route or itinerary
- Included services
- Fixed price
👉 This format is more structured and designed to make it easier for customers to book, driving more reservations by offering a clear and transparent package.
⚠️ Don’t see the Experience feature on your profile? Contact our team and we’ll activate it for you.
Create a New Experience
To get started, you first need to create your experience.
- Click on Create new
- Select Offer a guided experience
- Select the boat this experience will be linked to
- Choose the harbor of departure
- Fill in the duration of the activity
- Click on Save
⚠️ Important: We recommend a maximum of three experiences per boat.
🎉 Your experience is now created, finish setting it up to make it available for booking!
Experience content
Start by defining the content of your experience, this is what will convince customers to book.
1. Add Photos
High-quality photos are essential, customers book with their eyes.
- Upload high-quality images that showcase the experience
- Choose a strong cover photo. If you have several activities on the same boat use different cover picture to enhance your offer!
- Add at least 4 photos (more is better)
⚠️ Important:
- The order of photos cannot be changed after upload
- You can only update the cover or hide images
- Photo cannot be deleted, only hidden
- Prioritize HD photos
2. Add Title & Description
Your title and description are key to converting visitors into bookings.
🔹 Title
Choose a clear, specific, and engaging title that helps customers immediately understand what the experience is about.
👉 Your title is the first thing customers see, so it should be easy to read and informative.
Use this formula to create your title:
[Location]: [Experience Type] + [Boat Type / Key Feature]
Best practices:
- Start with the location
- Clearly describe the type of experience (cruise, tour, trip…)
- Add 1 key element that makes it attractive:
- Boat type (catamaran, yacht…)
- Moment (sunset, full-day…)
- Inclusion (drinks, lunch, snorkeling…)
- Keep it simple and scannable
- Avoid vague or overly promotional words (e.g. “amazing”, “unforgettable”)
|
📌 Example:

🔹 Description
Your description should:
- Start with a short, captivating introduction that clearly explains the experience
- Describe the itinerary and what guests will do during the trip
- Highlight what makes your activity special (e.g. boat type, atmosphere, included services)
📌 Tip: Aim for at least 250 words to maximize your conversion.
3. Included & Not Included Items
You can clearly indicate what is included in your experience and what is not.
- If the toggle is activated, the item will appear as included in the experience
- By default, after adding an item it is marked as excluded, remember to adjust as per your offer
This helps set clear expectations for customers and avoids misunderstandings.
We strongly encourage you to include complementary items (such as drinks, snacks, or small extras) to enhance your offer and make it more attractive.
Being accurate and transparent is key to building trust and increasing your bookings.
Booking settings
1. Set Your Pricing
- Click on the Price Period (if already existing) or Create New (if you want to add one)
A price period allows you to define the price of your experience for a specific date range (for example: high season, low season, weekends, etc.).
We recommend adapting your prices based on demand. Increasing prices during busy periods and adjusting them during quieter times can help you stay competitive and maximize your bookings.
- Set a start date and an end date
- The prices you define will apply to all bookings within this period
⚠️ Important: If no price period is set for a given time period, your activity will not be bookable during that time.
🔹 How to set your price
Please make sure to clearly fill in all the details of your price:
- Experience cost
- Skipper cost
- Fuel cost
📌 Note: If a cost is set to 0, it will be displayed as**“Offered”**
This helps:
- You better understand your pricing structure
- Us ensure consistency
- Customers have full transparency
🔹 How your price is displayed to customers
👉 By default, your listing is displayed as an all-inclusive price
This means:
- Experience + skipper + fuel are paid online
- The total price is shown upfront
✅ This is the preferred format for customers: simple, clear, no surprises
🔹 Can I choose a different setup?
In some cases, it is still possible to have the skipper and/or fuel paid at the harbor instead of online.
However, this will impact how your offer is displayed to customers, making it less all-inclusive and potentially less attractive.
👉 We recommend keeping an all-inclusive setup whenever possible.
👉 If needed, feel free to **contact our team.** We’ll be happy to review your configuration and help you find the best setup.
2. Departing Schedule
In the same section (Price Period), you will define when your experience is available for booking.
You can choose:
- Which days of the week your activity is available (Monday, Tuesday, etc.)
- At what time(s) customers can start the experience
🔹 How to set it up
- Activate the days on which you want to offer the experience
- For each day, add one or several departure times (e.g. 09:00, 14:00)
👉 You can add multiple time slots per day to maximize your booking opportunities.
👉 Use “Apply to all days” if your schedule is the same every day.
3. Manage Calendar & Bookings
You can manage your availability at two levels:
🔹 Boat Level (Global Availability)
- Blocks all experiences linked to the boat
- Ideal when the boat itself is unavailable (maintenance, private use, etc.)
| 📌 Example: If your boat is unavailable for a week, blocking it at the boat level will automatically make all your experiences unavailable during that period. |
👉 To do this: Go to your boat listing and block the unavailable dates as usual. Need help? Visit this page: Edit my listing
🔹 Experience Level (Specific Availability)
- Only blocks one specific experience
- Does not impact other experiences linked to the same boat
| 📌Example: You can make your sunset cruise available only from June to August by blocking the rest of the year at the experience level, while keeping your other activities available. |
👉 To do this: Go to your experience listing and block the unavailable dates.
⚠️ Important: Calendar Synchronization
A booking on any experience will automatically block the boat — and therefore all other experiences — for the same time slot.
👉 This ensures:
- No risk of double bookings
- A centralized and reliable calendar across all your activities
- Less manual work to keep your availability up to date
4. Discounts
You can create discounts directly from this section.
Here’s how it works:
- Set the validity period of your discount (when the offer is available)
- Define the booking window (when customers need to book to benefit from the discount)
- Choose the percentage of discount you want to apply
This allows you to:
- Boost your bookings during low-demand periods
- Create urgency with limited-time offers
- Better control your pricing strategy throughout the season
📌 Tip: Use discounts strategically (early bookings, last-minute availability, or off-season) to maximize your occupancy.
Final Tips
To maximize your performance:
- Write a detailed and engaging description
- Use high-quality photos
- Offer an all-inclusive price
- Keep your calendar updated
A well-optimized experience will increase your visibility and conversion.
